This brochure summarises the main activities and results of ALDA’s three-year project on democratisation and trans-border cooperation in the Balkans.

The primary goals of this project were the promotion of an active civil society and democratic local authorities, community development, capacity building and intercultural dialogue through trans-border cooperation, youth and civil society development, exchange of best practices, and strengthening of local authorities, through the setting up of three new Local Democracy Agencies. This was one of the most delicate and critical areas in the Balkans concerning stability and peace: Southern Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro.
